Comments

If a user leaves a comment on the site, we collect the data specified in comment form, as well as the user’s IP address and browser user-agent data for the purpose of spam detection.

An anonymous string created from your email address («hash») may be shared with Gravatar to determine if you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible publicly with your comment.

Media files

If you are a registered user and upload photos to the site, you may want to avoid uploading images with EXIF metadata, as they can contain your GPS location. Users can retrieve this data by downloading the image from the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, we can save the information about your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in the same details again the next time you comment. These cookies are stored for one year.

If you have an account on the site and you log in, we will set temporary cookies to determine if your browser supports cookies. The cookies do not contain any personal information and are deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in to your account, we also set several cookies with your login data and screen settings. Login cookies are stored for two days and screen settings cookies are stored for one year. If you select the «Remember me» option, the login data will be stored for two weeks. When you log out of your account, your login cookies will be deleted.

When the article is edited or published an additional cookies will be stored in your browser. It does not contain personal data and only contains the ID of the record you edited. It expires in one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Such content behaves the same way as if the user was visiting another site.

These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, implement additional third-party monitoring, and monitor your interactions with embedded content, including monitoring interactions if you have an account and have logged in to that site.

If you request a password reset, your IP will be specified in the email with the reset information.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment itself and its metadata are saved indefinitely. This is done in order to detect and approve subsequent comments automatically, instead of placing them in an approval queue.

For registered users we store the personal data they provide in their profile. All users can see, edit or delete their profile information at any time (except for their username). The website administration can also see and edit this information.

What rights you have to your data

If you have an account on the website or if you have left comments, you can request an export file with the personal data we have stored, including the data you have provided. You can also request the deletion of this data. This does not include data that we are required to store for administrative, legal or security purposes.
